KANO, Nigeria (Reuters)-The Islamic sect of Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the coordinated bomb attacks on security forces in the Northern Nigerian city of Kano, killing at least nine people late on Friday. “
This attack caused the Government announced a dusk to dawn curfew in the city of more than 10 million people.
Kano, like other cities in the North, has been plagued by a rebellion led by the Boko Haram, which is blamed for scores of bombing and shooting, especially aimed at the Government’s target, which grows in scale and sophistication.
A spokesman for Boko Haram contacted reporters in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, where the sect is based, to claim responsibility for the attack. A copy of the letter is also dropped in Kano, which emerged from the group.
